The Whole Bunch Syrah forms part of the Projects Range. These are wines we can get geeky about - interesting, small runs, slightly quirky, but always delicious!

Vinification: All fruit was hand-picked, whole bunch fermented for ten days, pressed and taken off the lees and then aged in steel tanks for eight months.

Appearance: Deep ruby to purple colour.

Nose: A floral, earthy and intensely complex vintage showing a dense core of black and red fruits and white pepper that again nods towards the northern Rhone.

Taste: The palate is not without tannin or acidity but is led by pure fruit and a touch of aromatic spice. The overall effect is lifted and ethereal where it was dense and coiled - making this more approachable though no less beguiling.

About the Producer: Gabriëlskloof winery is in the Bot River ward, part of the greater Walker Bay region. Their winemaking philosophy is one of minimal intervention, only taking action where necessary. They believe this is the only way to give prominence to and reflect their terroir.
