The Catena 'Alamos' Cabernet Sauvignon is an award-winning wine. The Wines of Argentina rated it as a gold wine, and the Critics Challenge Wine Competition gave it the Critics Gold award. With its beautiful, deep purple color that has tones of ruby red, the Catena 'Alamos' Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of sweet spice, ripe berries, and a bit of tobacco. Its flavors include red currant and cassis with a distinct note of espresso beans. It has moderate acidity and pairs well with hearty dishes.

Vinification: This single varietal red wine comes from the high altitudes of the winery and is hand-harvested and gently pressed. This is followed by cold maceration for one day and subsequent alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Further, aging takes place for another 6 to 9 months in French and American oak barriques.

Appearance: Dark purple color and ruby reflections. 

Nose: Intense ripe redberry fruits, such as raspberries and blackberries, and sweet spices like vanilla and cinnamon, accented by a hint of tobacco. 

Taste: This Argentinian red wine shines with good structure and a nice backbone. Substantial aromas of red currant and cassis, underpinned by notes of cedar and leather, prance across the tongue. 

Finish: The fine-grained tannin gives this wine its wonderful structure and accompanies the pleasantly long finish.
