Cointreau is a crystal clear Triple Sec created in France in 1885. It’s an essential for any bar, being at the heart of more than 500 cocktails, including some of the world’s most celebrated cocktails the Margarita, the Cosmopolitan and the Sidecar. 

Cointreau’s flavor profile is a symphony of unexpected dualities: It has an instant freshness yet lingers on the palate, is a harmonious blend of nuanced notes yet remains intensely orange. Cointreau is crafted in their unique distillery in Angers, France guarded by their Master Distiller Carole Quinton. According to the method defined by Edouard Cointreau in 1885 the orange liqueur is distilled in traditional copper alembics. Every drop of Cointreau is made from only four natural ingredients; orange peels, alcohol, water and sugar.

Appearance:
Crystal clear with remarkable brightness. Droplets form on the sides of the glass suggest an extraordinary smooth richness.

Nose:
On the nose, Cointreau releases fresh zesty notes, bitter orange with a touch of lime and mint. Floral notes of orange flower, rose and lavender are also present on a deeper layer. Rounder, fruity notes of sweet oranges, bergamot and lemon follow through, with a touch of candied fruit. Spicy notes of pepper are present when you swirl Cointreau in the glass, with cardamom and green tea aromas.

Palate:
After a first sip of Cointreau to train your taste buds, take another sip, and let yourself be surprised by the Cointreau kick and freshness. MARGARITA

The Margarita was originally created when Dallas socialite Margarita Sames mixed her two favorite spirits, Cointreau and Tequila, together with lime juice while on vacation in Acapulco back in 1948. This original Margarita recipe has stood the test of over 70 years’ time.

Ingredients:

30ml Cointreau
50ml Blanco Tequila
20ml fresh lime juice

Method:

1. Make a salt rim on your glass
2. Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice
3. Shake vigorously
4. Strain into a Margarita glass
5. Garnish with a lime wheel

COSMOPOLITAN

The rise of Cosmopolitan marked the return of premium and fresh ingredients to the cocktail glass. This pink blushed beauty is one of the most revered modern Cointreau classic.

Ingredients:

30ml Cointreau L'Unique
30ml Cranberry juice
30ml Fresh lime juice
60ml Vodka

Method:
1. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker
2. Add ice and shake until well-chilled
3. Strain into a chilled coupe or cocktail glass
4. Garnish with an orange twist
