Created to capture their elegantly robust and floral house style, each batch of the classic laddie is unpeated, with a unique recipe. It is an embodiment of their distilling philosophy; slow trickle distillation, unrivalled cask selection, all-Islay maturation and an uncompromising approach to bottling within the distillery gates – un-chill filtered, colouring free, using Islay spring water.

In their endless pursuit of flavour, they have championed whisky’s essential raw ingredient – barley. They have sourced their crops from Scotland and put flavour and farmer first. With those farmers, they have shared in the risk and reward of seeking the best from the ground up and are united in their mission to leave behind healthy lands for future generations.

Nose:
Barley sugar and a hint of mint open before moving into freshly cut wild flowers; buttercup, daisy, meadowsweet, myrtle, primrose and cherry blossom. Delicate zephyrs of spindrift and sea pinks are a reminder that this spirit is matured exclusively beside the sea. Over time, and with the addition of a little water, caramelised fruit notes come to the fore, with hints of lemon drops, honey, tangerine and tablet.

Palate:
Refined and refreshing, sweet oak and barley notes come together in perfect harmony. Ripe green fruits, brown sugar and sweet malt follow, showcasing the remarkable flavour of the Scottish barley used in this single malt.

Finish:
Smooth and well rounded, the finish showcases the elegant balance between the sprightly, vibrant fruit and the subtle sea-spray notes.

About the Producer:
Since Bruichladdich’s resurrection in 2001, their ambitions have gone beyond the simple idea of making and selling single malt scotch whisky. Their goal was to be an antidote to the industry norm. They set course to be pioneers, provocateurs and change makers. Reconnecting the land and the dram, re-evaluating the prescribed ‘rules’ of the industry, questioning where flavour comes from and understanding why agricultural ecosystems are important. This was a journey that would go on to inspire an army of distillers and drinkers across the world.
As they continue this path, they discover that the more they learn, the more they know they need to do. Today, their commitments to people and the planet grow stronger, ensuring they use their business as a force for good.

Cocktails:
The Laddie Old Fashioned

Ingredients:
50ml classic laddie
10ml sugar syrup
3 dashes angostura bitters

Method:
1. Stir all ingredients in glass and pour over large block of ice. Garnish with orange zest.

The Laddie Sour

Ingredients:
50ml classic laddie
20ml lemon juice
15ml simple syrup
Egg white 
Angostura bitters

Method:
1. Dry shake all ingredients together, then ad ice and wet shake.
2. Strain over ice into a rocks filled glass. Garnish with lemon zest.
